About us

A family-run winery rooted in the Bolognese hills, where every choice is guided by respect for the land and the desire to tell its story through wine.

Virgilio Sandoni’s winery is located in Bersagliera, a hamlet of Castello di Serravalle in the municipality of Valsamoggia, on the western slopes of the Bolognese hills. For over fifty years, Virgilio has pursued his work with a strong focus on tradition and care for nature. Today, he is joined by Vittorio, a young oenology graduate, who applies the best winemaking techniques to enhance the quality of their production.

The vineyards, located at 150–200 meters above sea level, are cultivated on hilly terrain using short pruning methods and summer thinning, with minimal use of chemical treatments.
Harvesting is done strictly by hand, selecting only the best grapes, which are then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve their varietal characteristics.
For some wines, ageing in small oak barrels enhances their aromatic complexity and structure.
After a gentle filtration, the wine is bottled and aged in the cellar before being released.

A process that blends experience and passion to produce wines that express the true essence of the land: tasting them is like shaking our hand.
